Sultry Sophie

When I unpacked last month's Lust Have It box I was excited to see the vintage style packaging of this product inside. I was instantly drawn to the vintage, slightly The Balm-esque, packaging and was even more excited to see that inside was a lip/cheek stain, I love a good dual-use productGlamourflage isn't a brand I've ever heard of before but after a little research I now know that they're an Aussie based brand channeling a 1940s/50s pinup girl vibe hence the vintage packaging. The Sultry Sophie Lip/Cheek Stain is a gel like liquid stain which can be applied to both your lips and cheeks, kinda self explanatory non?

The shade Sultry Sophie is a rather vibrant cherry pink which, when blended, offers a really natural flush. It can also be built up for a more bold finish but be careful it is really easy to go overboard with this stuff, it's seriously pigmented. It does blend out really well though so even when it looks like you've done too much, keep blending and you may be pleasantly surprised. If worst comes to worst and things are way too rouged, I simply use my foundation brush to tone things down a little.

On the cheeks I love this stuff. Such a lovely brightening shade that sticks around for a good 7 hours sans touchups. No, it doesn't look as vibrant as when first applied but it's still hanging in there which is a start. Thanks to the liquid formula it blends in to an absolutely seamless finish. I use my Real Techniques Stippling Brush as I find being duo-fibre it really stops me applying too much product. Fingers are also an option but I find the colour is much more concentrated this way.

As for lips it hasn't quite won me over. If it's in my bag I'd pop it on to add a little something to my lips but I don't find it to show up as well on the lips as the cheeks and it's not the longest lasting. I definitely wouldn't go as far as to call it a stain. Although a little bit mixed in to lip balm does add a nice nourishing sheen so it will still get some use from me. I just wouldn't recommend it as solely a lip product.

Have you tried anything from Glamourflage? I'm interested to see what else they offer.

  1. Seems like a decent product - looks quite similar to Benefit Benetint. I haven't tried anything from Glamourflage but they seem like a cute brand!

  2. That's exactly what I was thinking too! It also reminds me a lot of a brand we have here in the US called Hard Candy.

  4. This reminds me a lot of Benetint! I'm a little scared of stains like this, I feel like they're just going to seep into one place and not budge.

  8. I know what you mean but this stuff really doesn't. It's best to work quickly though! I've never had a problem with it clumping in one place xx
