I Quit Sugar for Life Review

I have spoken a heap about cleaning up my diet around these parts so regular readers will know all about it by now. To keep me on the straight and narrow (although there's nothing wrong with a stray piece of chocolate, is there?) I need some inspiration. Blogs and Instagram aside I've been loving healthy cookbooks to inspire me. I love cooking so for me, healthy recipes are the best of both worlds. One book in particular that has tickled my fancy is Sarah Wilson's I Quit Sugar for Life. Now don't worry, I'm not going on a crazy no sugar diet, but cutting down on the sweet stuff can't be a bad thing, right?

The book is choc-a-block with sugar free recipes ranging from breakfast to dinner and even dessert, there's even a whole section on chocolate! Being healthy ain't all that bad ;). Dressings, smoothies, utilising leftovers, preparing ahead and even a sugar-free food plan, this book has got it all. Splattered with health tips along the way, it's just what I need to keep me on track. There's also a heap of sweet treats for when that sweet tooth desperately needs satisfying, the cake in the third picture is completely sugar free!

I whipped up the 'Almost Paleo Bread' the other day and boy was it tasty. The instructions are easy to follow and ingredients aren't bizarre and hard to find like some healthy recipes can be. Perfect for a quick lunch on the go. I can't wait to try more recipes, I'll be sure to keep you updated via Instagram.

  1. Great review. I've been wanting to get this book but resisted in case it featured hard-to-find ingredients like some of the other healthy cookbooks I have seen. It's good to know it's a bit more accessible. I might have to pick it up.

  3. I've been curious about this book for a while now and, by the looks of that gorgeous bread, I might have to pick it up! There's a cookbook I've been using recently that you might be interested in. It's the Super Healthy Snacks and Treats one by Jenna Zoe, I've seen a few people blogging about it. It's all gluten, dairy and egg free recipes, but they're all also free from refined sugars :) x

  11. Mmmm that bread looks delicious. I saw this author on a tv show. I'm not sure I could completely give up sugar. It's okay to have treats in moderation I think :) xx
