Healthy Habits

Those of you that follow me over on Instagram may have noticed one or two more healthy food posts popping up on your feed from me. My skin has been giving me absolute hell recently (just when I thought things were looking up of course!) and with nothing helping on the skincare front I've decided to look inside and develop some healthy habits.

Now I wouldn't say my usual diet is particularly awful, but there's always room for a little extra fruit and veg and a few extra classes of water, right? Don't go thinking that this is me going on some crazy restricting diet because I'm definitely not! I'm simply embracing more healthy food and lifestyle choices to hopefully improve my overall health, not just my skin. Processed foods, dairy and gluten are all being avoided, fruit, veg, almond milk and brown rice have taken over my fridge and Deliciously Ella has become my bible. And you know what? I'm loving it. Healthy food actually tastes amazing, it's not all just limp lettuce leaves and tomatoes.

So far I've learnt that organisation is absolutely key. Tucking in to a healthy packed lunch is so much easier than attempting to scout out something healthy whilst your stomach growls for food. This is when you're at your weakest and bad decisions food-wise are common ground. Stay organised, be prepared and enjoy that yummy quinoa salad you bought from home- you'll thank yourself later, trust me.

I'll be sure to keep you up to date with my healthy habits endeavours. If you've got any tips, tricks, recipes or even questions, please leave them down below or you can tweet me @annablush_.

  1. Healthy trick: When baking you can substitute butter with Greek yoghurt, applesauce, prune puree or rice bran oil (it's not totally fat free but has a much lower saturated fat level than butter). It sounds kooky but works just fine. :))

  7. This is inspiring for me cause I'm currently needing to kick some bad habits and embrace a more healthy diet. I'm starting by dramatically cutting down on sugar intake as my first step so I'll see how I go.
Looking forward to seeing more healthy eating posts from you! x

  8. I love the smoothie, it looks so yummy! To get healthier I started doing green smoothies every day for breakfast and let me tell you, I got hooked! They are super healthy and give so much energy! I also cut off dairy completely and it really made a difference.
    Good luck on being healthy!
