Introducing Daniel Sandler

..Unfortunately just his makeup, not the guy himself! It's not a brand I've experimented with much in the past. It's not readily available here in Australia so it took a Cult Beauty discount code to convince me to give his Watercolour Blush a try. Fast forward a few months and it's still a firm favourite of mine and a few other items have made their way into my stash. May I also add that DS is the nicest guy. Seriously, check out his Twitter, he's so lovely!

Watercolour Fluid Blush: My first foray into the brand and it set my expectations rather high. A purchase directly enabled by this video from Gemma, it was a slight walk on the wild side given the unusual formula. Well.. wild for me. A highly pigmented fluid (I have the shade Flush) containing Vitamin E and Jojoba to enhance application and nourish skin. I've found the best way to apply is squeeze a little onto the back on my hand (ensuring that I give the bottle a shake first) then go in with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush and buff onto my cheeks. A little goes a long way with this stuff so I tend to dab the brush around the back of my hand to remove any excess before approaching the face. A slightly messy process but the results are well worth the clean up.  It blends with the smallest level of effort required and really melts into the skin giving such a natural, seamless flush. The lasting power is amazing, it literally stays put all day. Bonus tip: any left over product can be used on the lips to add a hint of colour.

Base Brush: Who would've thought, I've developed a love for a base brush that isn't the RT Buffing Brush! I began to pine for a paintbrush style foundation brush after seeing Lisa Eldridge use one in one too many of her videos. When this DS one came up as a GWP on Look Fantastic I felt obliged to spend the required amount to receive one (see below for how those $$ were spent). It's since been assigned as 'foundation brush for high coverage foundations' in my collection and I'm surprised with how quickly it became a favourite of mine. It's synthetic bristles are uber soft and it just gets the product where you want it. I thought blending would be a difficult task but it actually blends really well. As with most high coverage looks I usually run my fingers over top to ensure that everything is seamless post application but that's just a personal safeguard I have against an uneven base. Bonus points for how easy it is to get into those tricky areas like around the nose with this brush.

Watercolour Créme Rouge: Another blush offering that has impressed me. I picked up the shade soft peach in the aforementioned Look Fantastic splurge and it was my daily blush on chose on my recent trip to Thailand. It blends so easily into the skin giving a natural flush and it really doesn't budge. Providing more of a sheeny hint of pink than the more bold fluid offering it's great for adding a little bit of colour to the cheeks even on days when makeup isn't on the menu (most days when I was on holiday). It sticks around all day even in the Thai humidity, perfect for summer.

Brown Velvet Waterproof Eyeliner: You know by now that I love a brown liner for subtle eye definition and this is probably my pick of the bunch. Super creamy, this stuff is easy to smudge out post application but soon sets in place and does not budge. I also love the twist up function as it makes sharpening unnecessary which helps reduce product wastage.

Have you tried anything from Daniel Sandler? What are your favourites?
