Lust Have It January

When I returned from my recent holiday I was excited to see my January Lust Have It Box* had arrived (albeit a month late). If you were paying for this service I think it could be quite frustrating to receive it so late, I've heard many other bloggers say they received their boxes late too so it wasn't just me! Although it is better late than never!

On to the actual contents of the box which was quite skincare-centric with only one makeup item included, Model Co's Shine Ultra Lip Gloss, mine in the shade Strip Tease. This is a full sized product priced at $18 which almost covers the cost of the box in just one item! I'm not much of a lip gloss lover but I've actually really enjoyed using this. Strip Tease is a lovely pinky nude with small hints of shimmer and the formula is not at all sticky. Lovely on it's own or over a lip colour to gloss things up.

From the skincare in the box there is one product I'm quite excited to try, Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel. I've heard a fair bit about Paula and know that her site is quite a popular resource for skincare tips however I haven't heard much about her products. This particular gel is designed to use as the serum step in your skincare routine, after cleansing and toning and claims to create radiant, younger and even-toned skin. I'm a fan of chemical exfoliants so am excited to see how I get on with this one.

The other skincare type products I received were Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Wipes, Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear SPF30+,  Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturising Oil and Evodia Lemon Sorbet Hand Cream. Wipes aren't something I like to use regularly however they do come in handy for travelling so I'll be keeping hold of these. The SPF is something I'll definitely be trying, protecting your skin from the sun is vital and a tinted SPF does two jobs in one. I'm slightly disappointed with the Aveda oil, it's such a small size (3ml) that I think you could barely get more than one use out of it. On the other end of the size scale was the Evodia hand cream, a full-sized 100ml priced at $17.95. It's nice and lightweight, soaks in quickly and has a subtle sweet lemon scent, I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of this.

Did you receive the LHI January Box? Did you like it?

  1. I love ModelCo lip products! We don't have that box in the UK, but i'm enjoying Birch Box and I used to get Glossy. Nice to get a treat (albeit that you've paid for) every month.

  2. Not a fan of face wipes either, but the Simple eye makeup remover is very nice :) Looks like a nice box, I used to get the Glossy Box but I cancelled my subscription because they kept sending me lotions I didn't really use haha.

  3. I love Simple wipes! They take off makeup really well and they are really good on my sensitive skin. Wouldn't buy any other brand x
