Evening Skincare Routine

Any long time readers of Anna Blush will know that I'm quite the fan of skincare, the skincare drawer of my stash is absolutely choc-a-block. I'm all for changing up my skincare routine to suit whatever is going on with my skin but I still have a typical selection of products that I reach for most evenings when my skin is being it's usual oily, problematic self.

First up it's all about ensuring that all my makeup is removed. For that I reach for my Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm which is amazing for removing all traces of makeup and leaving my skin feeling nourished and plumped. This is my second tub of the stuff, it's that good, you can read my full review here. I then like to do a second cleanse (unless I'm feeling lazy then just the EH is sufficient) and for this I've recently been loving Ren's ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser. A clay based cleanser which helps keep oil production under control whilst also reducing the size and redness of any active breakouts. I like to massage this in and leave for a few minutes to work it's magic before removing with a warm flannel.

Once everything is clean it's time for toner. What use to be the forgotten step in my skincare routine is now one of my favourites, something I discussed in more detail here. In true Caroline Hiron's style I use an exfoliating toner first, my pick of the bunch being Clarin's Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner, followed by a more hydrating offering like this mist from Sukin. I then like to take a few minutes to let the toners sink in before moving on to my serum and oil.

My current serum of choice is Antipodes Apostle Skin-Brightening and Tone Correcting Serum which is a fruity, light weight serum that soaks in to the skin almost instantly. Aimed at brightening the overall complexion and lightening areas of hyper-pigmentation and scarring, a full review is in the works. My final step is my absolute favourite moisture giver of all time, Pai's Bioregenerate Rosehip Oil. I was once one to cringe at the mere idea of an oil on my oily skin but am now 100% converted. A few drops of this massaged all over the skin is amazing to help hydrate and heal pimples, read my full review here.

  1. I love the Clarins toner, I've found it's done really good things for my skin! I look forward to your full review of the serum, I'm always up for trying products to help fade dark spots as I am severely prone to acne scars. Rosehip oil is a must for me, my current favourite is the Kosmea one.

  10. My full review should be coming up soon! I want to make sure I give it a super long trial before reporting back, I find products that are aimed at tone correcting always take that little longer to take affect xx
