January Favourites

The end of yet another month and it's time for another monthly favourites. A 'January Favourites' post was the first to ever appear here on my little blog, a little bit of Anna Blush trivia for you there. I'm super excited for the end of January as next month I'm off on a little holiday with the boy to Thailand. Time for poolside cocktails, kayaking and 'What's in my bag; Travel Edition', you know the drill. January's been a pretty quite one for me makeup wise, the temps have been absolute killers here in Perth but I've still loved my fair share of beauty bumf so here we go.

Aesop Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque: This mask stood out from my skincare stash this month due to it's ability to kick those under-the-skin blemishes in the butt. I struggled from a fair few of the nasties, unhealthy eating over the festive period anyone?, and this came to the rescue. I've spoken about it's healing properties here, definitely one to try if you suffer from blemishes of the 'under-the-skin' variety and most effect when you act fast, slap this stuff on ASAP.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Dim Light: I finally got my hands on the most raved about un-powder powder of 2013 and I've loved it. It's soft focus, imperfection blurring finish is just what I need. Not at all powdery or too mattifying, perfect for setting makeup with a light, luminous glow. You can read my full post here.

Rimmel Brit Manicure English Rose: A product I accidentally stumbled across last month and have been loving it ever since. Read the full story here but basically if you're looking for a polish that will add a bit of milky pinky something something to your nails without being opaque or too much hard work, this is the one. My hassle free option I've reached for most often over the past month.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Tough as Taupe: When will I ever stop banging on about this things?! I dug up this shade for my Heatproof Edit post and had completely forgotten how much I loved it. A lovely blueish grey that sticks around for absolutely hours and gives a nice subtle smoke. Effortless and simple but oh so effective. My favourite thing to do is take a little on a small brush and smudge into the lower lash line, instant sexy definition.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Concealer: As religiously as I've been applying the Aesop mask above this month I have still had the odd pimple or two peep through so I've relied on the heaviest duty concealer in my stash. I've even been embracing a foundation-free face recently with just a smidge of concealer over problem areas and a dusting of powder on top. High coverage but never cakey, what more could you want in a concealer?

Tarte Amazonion Clay Blush in Achiote: I'm all about the peachy pinks, especially in the summer time and this blush by Tarte has just been ticking all the boxes for me this month. Natural, easy to dust on with a large fluffy brush and long lasting, the perfect complexion perk me up. I like to apply very lightly for a really natural hint of colour but it's definitely a shade that can be built up to add a decent amount of colour, a nice all rounder.

  6. I've never heard much about Achiote before. I wonder if it's available in Sephoras in Canada. I'm definitely hoping to pick some of the Tarte blushes up soon. Probably going with Exposed, Natural Beauty, or Flush. It's crazy that I can easily get my hands on Tarte products but I haven't actually done it yet.
