Highstreet Haulin' #2

I love myself a bargain as much as (if not more than) the next girl, particularly when it comes to the world of beauty and products that rival their more purse pinching counterparts. I'm all about hunting out the latest and greatest beauty steals so it's no surprise that on my latest perusal of the pages of ASOS Beauty I ended up with a fair few hyped highstreet products sitting in my figurative basket, and soon to be my hot little hand.

I've spoken of my love for Rimmel many a time here on Anna Blush so of course a few pieces from them were added into the bag. I've had my eye on their Brixton Brown eye palette for quite some time now after spying it on a fair few UK blogs, but it was this post by Lilly Pebbles that really enabled the purchase, a drugstore version of Charlotte Tilbury's Dolce Vita? Count me in. I also picked up one of the Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Sticks in the shade Bad Girl Bronze. Basically a cream shadow in stick form for the ultimate lazy day, 5 minute face anyone? I was loving this until the Australian heat took it's toll and the tip completely slide off, and I wasn't even being heavy handed. I can't seem to work out how to get the rest of the product out, it doesn't look like something you'd sharpen but doesn't twist up either, can anyone shed some light? Any advice will be gratefully received. The final purchase from Rimmel was their Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder in the shade Transparent. Believe it or not there's not a single other loose powder kicking around my makeup stash so I thought why not try one from the brand that makes my favourite pressed powder? I've used this for the past few days and may have fallen in love, expect to hear more soon.

The next brand that set up camp in my online basket was Bourjois. Well known for their killer bases that's of course what I gravitated towards. The newest addition to their foundation line up, Happy Light, was quickly added to the basket as was the Luminous Happy Light Serum Primer. I'm yet to try either but based on the reviews I've seen already, I'm expecting good things.

  6. You totally can sharpen the Rimmel Scandaleyes. In the beginning it looks awkward, but once you give it a shot it's easier to do it again.

  12. The Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Sticks sound great! I've heard a lot about them and I'm tempted to give them a try. It's too bad they don't have very many neutral shades though.
