Essie Summer Duo

When Essie polishes first appeared in the aisles of Priceline here in Australia it was obvious that a shade or two would make it's way into my basket. I started my foray into the brand with a well loved shade; Mint Candy Apple. I'm a lover of any mint shade and this baby, minty blue is right up my street. A shade perfect for Spring/Summer which helps enhance the appearance of even the slightest tan. Of course I couldn't stop at just one so Set in Stones from the new Lux Effects range also made it's way into my basket. A chunky silver glitter that I was rocking on all 10 nails over Christmas but has since been toned down to a more discreet accent nail. I love adding a bit of bling with an accent nail as it's not so time consuming to remove. The silver sparkle pairs really nicely with the minty blue, a duo I've been quite enjoying over the past few weeks.

As for formula the Essie polishes don't disappoint. Now I'm not the biggest fan of the brushes, I prefer wider offerings as I find them much easier to work with, but the formula is good. Having quite a runny consistency means that there's not issues with streaking and the pigmentation is standard with only two coats of MCA required to reach an opaque finish. On the higher end of the drugstore nail polish spectrum there's definitely have some cheaper rivals and some shades are quite easily duped however there are some lovely shades that I think I need to make room for in my collection. Suggestions welcome.
