New in the Makeup Bag

A change in season is the perfect excuse to have a little revamp of the makeup bag. No matter the season, there's always room for a rejig in the beauty stocks and a change up for your daily face. It's officially summer down here in the southern hemisphere and that means out with the overly matte bases and in with creams and pastels for a dewy, fresh face. With Christmas just around the corner it's also the perfect time to add some glitter to my usually neutral cohort.

First up, a new base. As much as I'd love to embrace a light weight, light coverage base come summertime my breakouts and those hideous scares still require some form of camouflage. Laura Mercier's Silk Créme is the base I've added to the makeup bag for all my coverage, dewy and long lasting needs. High coverage, hydrating and oil free, ticking all my summertime base boxes. Still fairly new to the ranks so one I'm still getting use to but so far so good.

Another new piece of Laura Mercier eye candy for my makeup bag comes in the form of her Bonne Mine Healthy Glow for Face and Cheek palette. One that I believe was limited edition quite some time ago but it still available from Kiss and Makeup NY. A combination of 5 cream based products, one bronzer, two blushers and two glow veils (think highlighters). Soft and easy to blend giving that dewy summertime glow in one compact palette. A full review of this is in the works so keep your eyes peeled if your interested.

Finally two new Essie polishes to change up my nails for the summer. Priceline's 2 for $20 offer was too good to resist and I left with cult favourite Mint Candy Apple as well as Set in Stones from their new luxeffects range. MCA being a lovely minty green, perfect for the summer months, whilst the silver shimmer of Set in Stones is perfect for Christmas time. A duo that I've been loving lately.

What new pieces have you added to your makeup bag this season?
