Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask

I've been really getting into natural skincare brands lately as I've realised the importance of nourishing and caring for my skin. This means not simply using strong products that will zap pimples but damage the rest of my skin. Since really zoning in on my skincare routine, the products I use and their ingredients, I have seen a vast improvement in my skin. I do still suffer from horrid pimples, thanks hormones, but overall, my complexion has improved.

This mask from Antipodes has been my most recent natural skincare love. A brand from New Zealand who believe in green beauty, not only using organic and vegetarian ingredients, but also recyclable packaging. Suitable for most skin types, but primarily those with blemish-prone skin, this mask offers intense hydration whilst also deeply cleansing. It drys similar to a clay based mask, however doesn't leave your skin feeling anywhere near as tight. The key ingredient, Manuka honey, is known for it's antibacterial, as well as nourishing, properties making it perfect for my skin type.

I find that this mask really calms my skin, reducing redness and adding some much needed hydration. Due to it's really nourishing properties it can be used more than the usual once a week, Antipodes even suggest that it's appropriate for daily use. I usually use about twice a week on a freshly cleansed face, applying a generous layer and leaving for the recommended 15 minutes, sometimes even more. I follow with my usual skin care routine and wake up the next morning with calm, plumped skin.

Antipodes is readily available from Feel Unique and Naturisimo and I'll definitely be checking out some more of their other products. Their skin brightening gel cleanser is high on my wish list.

  1. I haven't tried Antipodes before, but I did hear on a number of occasions that it is a really good brand. Currently, it is just a tad bit too expensive for me, but hopefully I'll be able to try it after I start my new job.

For a cheaper option, I currently use Skin Food's products. :)
Thanks for the lovely review, it is now on my wishlist! ^_^
