The Moisture Mix

For some strange reason, my usually super oily skin has been pretty damn dry recently. I've never seen my skin so dry, flaky or itchy, ouch! This required an urgent vamp up in the moisture department of my skincare routine and here's the products I've been reaching for.

Hydraluron: I've been applying this religiously every night since my bout of dry skin and I'm convinced it has helped. A Caroline Hiron's approved serum which is rich in hyaluronic acid, the ultimate hydrator. This stuff is capable of holding 1000 times it's weight in water, pretty amazing huh? Applied under your usual oil/moisturiser, this helps your skin absorb all that goodness, resulting in hydrated radiant skin, perfect!

Pai Bio Regenerate Rosehip Oil: This has been my favourite oil for absolutely ages so of course it's what I reached for when dryness hit. Applied nightly after my Hydraluron, this helps hydrate my skin and also has a whole heap of other benefits (read about these here). Nothing too heavy that it returns my skin to an oily mess, but enough to keep those dry patches at bay.

La Roche Posay Nutric Intense Riche: Having such an oily skin type means I don't have many super duper hydrating moisturisers kicking around my skin care stash. I usually find them slightly too heavy and normally result in clogged pores (i.e. pimples), but not this one! A light layer of this massaged into my skin after the Pai oil is perfect for an overnight hydrate. It's really hydrating, not pore clogging and not heavily scented so should be perfect for most skin types. I've been using this every night recently given the current state of my skin, but I think once everything goes back to normal, I'll still make an effort to use this at least one night a week to keep my skin looking plump.

What products do you reach for when dryness takes over? I'd love to hear what hydrating masks you recommend, I'm on a hunt!

I've never tried any Pai products but am getting more and more curious about them! Xx

  2. I love Hydraluron and the Origins mask for when my skin is dry.

  3. I'd never heard of that la Roche posey moisturiser but it sounds perfect. Usually after I get a bout of dry skin, I get lots of pimples under the skin because I had to use such heavy moisturiser.
I use the dr jart moisture mask. It's not as strong as the origins mask but it can also be used during the day instead of your normal moisturiser.

  4. really love your blog. where do you come from?

  5. The ones I've tried have been great :) x

  6. Thanks for the recommendation! x

  7. Great, thank you for the recommendation! x

  8. Aw thank you, I was born in England but live in Australia x

  9. The origins overnight moisture mask is amazing, it's so easy to use and smells just like peaches and cream! xx
