Daily Face #5: Rose Byrne Inspired

Whilst flicking through the pages of my September issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, I found this beautiful make up look on actress Rose Byrne and thought I'd give recreating it a go. It's a fairly minimal, pretty look which would be perfect for spring/summer (or any time of the year for that matter). It's very pink focused making it a slightly more girly look than I'd usually for. It would be perfect for a first date (can you tell that Lily Pebbles' latest blog series has got me thinking about date makeup?).

I started by buffing in my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation for a nice dewy, light coverage base. However to stop things getting a little too dewy come midday, I also lightly dusted my t-zone with Rimmel's Transparent Stay Matte Powder.

For eyes I didn't want to go quite as heavy with the eyeliner as Rose has so decided to use a shadow instead. I've been loving my Naked Basics palette for adding a little somethin' somethin' to my eyes on a daily basis. I simply applied Walk of Shame (W.O.S) lightly all over the lid and blended Naked 2 into the crease for a little definition. I then took Faint on a small angled liner brush and worked it into my top lash line and just below me bottom lashes. This gives the appearance of much fuller lashes. I finished off eyes with a coat of d.j.v Beautenizer's Fibrewig LX Mascara to give that girly flutter.

Now onto cheeks. Byrne has quite dark pinky/bronzed cheeks for this look so for my recreation I opted for Bourjois' Cream Blush in 04 Sweet Cherry. It's a really deep matte pink but being a cream formula it gives a really natural, slightly dewy, finish. To further accentuate the cheeks I went for the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer worked into the slight hollow just below my cheek bones. This helps add some structure to my face and also bronze up my pale complexion. The tiny glints of shimmer also help add a glow to my skin.

Finally I added a hint of pink and gloss to my lips with L'Oreal Shine Caresse in Lolita . It doesn't add much colour so works really well for this natural, girly look.

Are there any celebrity inspired make up looks you've been trying out lately?

  3. Love seeing how people recreate looks! That gloss sounds like a nice neutral color with a bit of shine, which is nice for keeping things natural! I keep seeing that chocolate bronzer and I'm so intrigued, I feel it would make me crave chocolate whenever I used it haha
