Daily Face #3

For days when I'm just doing things around the house or maybe popping to the shops or into uni, I like to keep my make up nice and natural. This look also features a new addition to my makeup draws which I've been absolutely loving lately!

I first applied a thin layer of Revlon's Colourstay Foundation for normal/dry skin in the shade 200 Nude. I use to use the version for combination/oily skin but found it started to look a bit too powdery and matte for daily wear. I much prefer this alternative, it's great for covering small imperfections and still lasts all day on my oily skin.

To add a bit of radiance and colour to my complexion I lightly dusted Bourjois' Bronzing Powder in the shade 52 around my temples, under cheek bones, along my jaw line and then down onto my neck. This bronzer does have specks of glitter (or 'glints of sunshine' as Bourjois refers to them), which I usually avoid however they aren't detectable on the skin and help give a nice, subtle radiance.

For eyes I used my new eye palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, their Want You To Want Me palette. I've got a full review of this coming up soon, but for today I just used Members Only, a medium matte brown all over the lid (middle row, far left), Power Ballad, a shimmery brown taupe blended into the crease (center) and Front Row Center, a peachy gold shimmer as an inner corner highlight (top row, center). I've really been loving this palette but you will have to keep your eyes posted for the full review to read more!

To then further define my eyes I used Maybelline's Masterliner in the shade Brown on my upper lash line and the outer corner of my lower lashes. I find using a brown liner is much more subtle than black but still helps define the eyes. This particular one is really soft and easy to use and blend, plus it doesn't require sharpening which is always a bonus!

I finished off my eyes with one coat of DJV Beautenizer Fiberwig LX mascara*. This mascara has a nice sized, bristle-wand (I prefer these to plastic ones), and has fibres which help lengthen lashes. I find it super easy to apply and love the effect it has, not too clumpy!

To finish today's face I applied some Pomegranate Burt's Bees' lip balm which gives a nice subtle colour to my lips whilst also helping to keep them moisturised through out the day.

  4. Ahh I loved colorstay but also found it was a bit too powdery for my liking. I didn't know they had one for dry/combination skin! Gonna go grab myself one as soon as!
