Clarins Gift With Purchase

I've had a few products from Clarins on my wish list for a while now (I'll save them for another post), so when I saw the gift with purchase currently running at David Jones, I could not resist any longer! With the purchase of any two products, one being skincare, you have  the choice between two gift sets, both in little tin buckets, one aimed at radiance and one at hydration. I opted for radiance and here's what was inside.

Smoothing Body Scrub for a New Skin 75ml: This is a really thick exfoliating body scrub with really small scrubby particles. I've only used it once but have found that it doesn't go very far and feels very abrasive on my skin due to the small particles. This would be good for a once off, deep exfoliation but I wouldn't recommend for regular use.

Extra-Firming Body Lotion 100ml: This smells amazing! It's nice and sweet without being overpowering, rubs into the skin easily and absorbs quickly. I haven't used it enough to comment on the firming effect but it does leave my skin feeling super soft. It's also a really generous size sample which is great!

One-Step Exfoliating Cleanser with Orange Extract 75ml: I was really hoping that due to the orange extracts in this cleanser, it would have a nice refreshing scent great for a morning wake up, but sadly it doesn't. It smells very soapy, kind of like a cleaning product which isn't exactly what you want on your face! From reading Caroline Hiron's blog, I know that physical exfoliants aren't great for your skin so I probably won't be using this cleanser.

Hand and Nail Treatment Cream 30ml: This is quite a nice, light weight hand cream. Again I'm not particularly a fan of the scent, but it sinks into the skin quickly and leaves my hands feeling hydrated. A nice size for your handbag for use on the go.

Beauty Flash Balm 15ml: This is one of Clarins' best selling products so I was quite excited to see that it was included. I haven't had a chance to try it out, but I believe you press it into your skin in place of a primer before applying makeup. The lady at the Clarins counter told me that it is best to follow immediately with your foundation and they work together to create a radiant base. I'm interested to see how this works for me!

Eau Dynamisante Fragrance 30ml: This is a bit of a strange product that I'm not exactly sure how to use. To start with I thought it was a perfume but after researching I found that it's actually more of a scented refresher type product. It can be used after a shower or exercise to freshen up. I'm not a fan of the scent so doubt I will use it. I think this will be passed on to my Mum!

Let me know if you've tried any of these products, or any others by Clarins, and which are your favourites! x

  1. Thanks for your honest review. I've never tried Clarins products before but the firming body lotion sounds wonderful :) x
