Maybelline Colour Tattoo

35 Tough as Taupe- 45 Bold Gold- 25 Bad to the Bronze

Cream products seem to be having a bit of a 'moment' in the beauty blogging world as of late, with blushes and eye shadows claiming the most popularity. I was excited to get involved in the 'cream trend' so on a recent trip to Priceline (where Maybelline products where on a 3 for 2 offer), I couldn't resist picking up some of these Colour Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows. These were all the buzz towards the end of last year/beginning of these year, so yes, I am a bit late! But I thought I would still share my thoughts with you, as these are quite the drugstore gem.

Tough as Taupe
Bold Gold

Bad to the Bronze
As you can see from the pictures above, I picked up three shades; Tough as Taupe- a dark matte taupe, Bold Gold- a glittery light gold and Bad to the Bronze- a shimmery light brown. I really like all these shades and think they are great as either a base or just a sweep of colour for those lazy days. I like to apply these with my finger, as I find the warmth makes them easier to work with. I simply swirl my finger around in the pot then pat onto my eyelid and blend.

These are super easy to apply but I do find you have to work quite fast because they dry really quickly. On application they are creamy and smooth but once dry, they become quite tacky and don't really budge.  They last really well- not sure about 24 hours as I never leave my make up on for that long, but they definitely last all day. They don't crease and aren't at all heavy on the eyelids.

I've been loving wearing Tough as Taupe blended all over the lid as it really helps define the eye but still looks natural given its matte finish. Bad to the Bronze is great for all over the lids too if you're looking for a bit more shimmer, and Bold Gold I prefer to use as a base for powder shadows. It leaves a nice smooth canvas for powder to be applied to.
I've really enjoyed using these cream eyeshadows and would definitely recommend checking them out before splurging on a high end alternative! They are currently $11.95 at Priceline and on a 3 for 2 offer.
Have you tried these eyeshadows? Do you love them like I do, or is there another brands version that you prefer? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

  1. I am always looking for cream eyeshadows but struggle to find them. At the moment I am using a Benefit one but I will be looking out for these! x

    Glossy Temptations

    1. I'd definitely recommend trying them out, they are really lovely! x

  2. I own both Tough as Taupe and Bad to the Bronze, I'm interested in trying out MAC's new eyeshadow pots for this spring. I find your blog very simple and sweet!

  3. I have been wanting to get one of these for a while but i never know which colour to choose, they are all so nice.

    1. My favourite is Tough as Taupe, but if you want something shimmery, I'd go for Bad to the Bronze :)

  4. I love these eyeshadows, I have the bronze colour and it stays on all day! It's amazing! :D

  5. Pretty colours :)

  6. I love tough as taupe too! I'm a bit of a matte eye lover so it's perfect for me x

  7. Love these and such great value when they are on 3 for 2 !!

your blog is sooo cute! glad i found it,

mines pretty new,, i was wondering if you could take a little look and any feedback would be lovely!

    thanks xxxx

  12. I feel like these are so much better than the more expensive Benefit ones that I have in my stash. They are more pigmented, have a better colour range (in my opinion) and are half the price! Great blog post, really detailed and informative, a lovely read :)

Thank you for all your lovely comments, I love to read them! Feel free to tweet me with any questions (@annablush_) x
