January Favourites

It's the end of January and that means its favourites time in the beauty blogging world. The end of this month will not only see me reading many of these posts but also, for the first time ever (squeal!), writing my very own! Now without any further introductory ramblings, here are my favourite products from the first month of 2013.

Body Shop Almond Hand and Nail Cream
This hand cream has been an absolute saviour for me! For some reason my hands have been especially dry this month and to help combat that I've been massaging this hand cream in every night since I picked it up for half price (just £5!) on my recent trip to the UK. The smell seems very strong and sweet initially, however it does quickly fade into a very subtle almond scent. It leaves my hands feeling soft and smooth, and I have even noticed that my nails seem healthier now I'm massaging this baby in every night- bonus! It's full of beneficial ingredients such as Shea butter, soya oil and Brazil nut oil, which are all community fair trade approved and, as with all Body Shop products, there is no animal testing.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Solid Formula with Vitamin E
This is another moisturising product I've been loving this month (my skin has just been so dry!). It's great for very dry areas such as elbows and knees. You only need a tiny amount of this stuff, it has quite an oily texture so I prefer to apply it just before bed as it does take a bit longer to soak in than your standard moisturiser. Not only does this provide great results, it also smells so good! Think a very sweet, slightly orangey, chocolate- yum!

Classic Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm
I've had this lip balm for a while and always rely on it when my lips are looking (and feeling) a little worse for wear. Its a lovely thick balm that I like to apply every night before bed and I can still feel it in the morning. The taste/scent isn't that great however they do have some other scents/flavours available so I will probably giver them a go when I run out (I definitely plan on repurchasing!).

MUA 'Undressed' Eye Shadow Palette
In an attempt to convince myself that I do not need to spend $30 on the new Naked Basics palette, I have been trying to make use of some of the eye shadows I already own and this has led to me 'rediscovering' this palette. I'm very much a neutral eye kinda gal so this palette suits me perfectly. This palette has some lovely nude, matte shades which are perfect for a simple day look, but also has some darker, metallic shimmers great for more bold, night time looks. The quality of these shadows are amazing, especially considering that this palette will only set you back £4 (about $6) and they do offer international shipping (check out their site here).

Natural Collection Blush in 'Rosey Glow'
I've been reaching for this blush nearly every day during the past month, it's really lovely for giving a nice natural glow to the cheeks. It's not too heavily pigmented which I love for everyday wear as it makes it so quick and easy to apply without going over the top. This blush is also great value for money, I picked mine up in Boots on a 3 for £5 offer with some eye shadows.

Rimmel's Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in Shade 101
I love this lipstick, however being matte, it does tend to enhance any dry areas on your lips. To combat this I like to apply a heavy duty lip balm (such as my one by Carmex) a couple of minutes before the lipstick. However having said that, this lipstick isn't as drying as many other matte varieties tend to be. It has a really nice fruity fragrance and is very well pigmented. On days that I haven't wanted to sport a very bold lip, I've been applying a small amount of this lipstick with my fingers and then blending in. I find this gives a nice pinky tint, without being too 'barbie doll'. Once again, these are a great drugstore find, I picked mine up from Boots for just £5.49 (about $8) but you can usually get them on a 3 for 2 offer.

And there you have it, my first ever favourites post! I don't expect many people to have read this, but if you did, thank you! I'd love to hear your favourites or thoughts on mine, so feel free to leave them in a comment below.
