Shopping the High Street: Rimmel

I popped into my local Priceline (which is like an Australian version of Boots) they other day and saw that they had a special on Rimmel, spend $20 or more on the brand and receive a free gift valued at $38.85. I thought this was a deal too good to miss so set out to spend $20- something that I have to say, I don't find particularly difficult...

First I grabbed one of the new, very raved about, Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal liners in the shade Taupe. I liked the look of this colour and already have plenty of black and brown eye liners so thought I would try something a bit different. I've only tried this once so can't give a proper review just yet, but so far it seems to be living up to all the hype. I picked this up for $9.95 however you can pick them up in the UK for just £3.99.

I also picked up another quite well known product, the Match Perfection Foundation Rimmel has been receiving some pretty great views recently, with the release of the Wake Me Up Foundation (which I wasn't a fan of, was a bit too shimmery for my oily skin type), the Kate Moss Lipsticks and now the Scandaleyes and this foundation, it's definitely becoming a drugstore brand to keep an eye on. I've tried this foundation a couple of times, not enough to give a proper review, however so far it seems a nice alternative to the Wake Me Up foundation as it is quite similar in consistency and coverage, with out the shimmer. I picked this one up for $11.47 and it retails for £6.99 in the UK.

Now onto the free gift I received. It came with 4 products, 3 of which were full size and one sample. I was quite impressed with this, it really is great for a free gift. The full size products included a Volume Flash Scandaleyes Mascara (001 Black), a Traffic Stopping Shadow Palette (001 Over the Limit) and a 60 Second Nail Polish (520 At Ease). The sample was of their rather recently released BB Cream which is advertised as a '9-in-1 skin perfecting super make up'. I don't know if I believe that just one product can do 9 things but having never tried a BB cream before, I'm excited to give this a go.

Also, I've linked all the above products to their page on the UK Rimmel site as it has a handy feature allowing you to 'try on' each product. Simply upload a photo of yourself and then you are able to see what a particular product will look like on you.

Overall I was pretty happy with my little shopping trip, I was very impressed with the free gift. If theres some Rimmel products you've had your eye on, I would definitely recommend picking them up now. This offer runs until the 11th of February and there are some other shades available in the free gift if you weren't too keen on these colours.

If you'd like to see a full review on any of these products let me know in the comments below and I'd love to here your thoughts on them.
